LHSAA Becomes NASPAA Affiliate Member

Posted: 11-04-2011 | Categories: LHSADA, LHSCA

The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) joined the Indiana High School Athletic Association and the Oregon School Activities Association in becoming the most recent affiliate members of the National Association of Sports Public Address Announcers.

The mission of NASPAA is to raise the level of professionalism of public address (PA) announcers. The LHSAA broadcasts 27 state championship events annually as well as a New Orleans Saints sponsored "High School Game of the Week," which includes 10 regular season games and four playoff games. They also broadcast a one-hour live Annual Prep Football Pairing Show, which announces the 32 teams in each of the five classifications and the playoff brackets leading up to the state football championship games. According to LHSAA Executive Director Kenny Henderson, "The information, knowledge and expertise they (NASPAA) can provide to our schools and their respective PA announcers will certainly enhance our athletic events across Louisiana."
