HSPD Leadership Program Presented by the National Guard & The New Orleans Saints

Posted: 03-11-2014 | Categories: Football, LHSCA, Coaches

The HSPD Leadership Program, sponsored by the National Guard and the New Orleans Saints, is a one-day event comprised of activities in three different areas – the classroom, the community, and the leadership competitions.

The classroom portion will be led by the NFL’s Player Engagement Department and will consist of intensive character development and life skills training. Participants will have the opportunity to give back to the community by volunteering at Second Harvest. The leadership competitions will consist of a series of hands-on exciting activities led by the Louisiana Army National Guard.

The program will be a full day beginning with registration around 9 a.m. and closing around 5 p.m.. The New Orleans Saints Practice Facility in Metairie will serve as the location for the event, and lunch will be provided for participants. All participants must be referred by a local high school football coach. The NFL will review referrals and send formal invitations to participants selected to attend.  Invited participants must RSVP in order to reserve their spot for the program. Along with the invaluable experience, all participants will receive a 2014 HSPD Planner and Leadership Program t-shirt.

As their coach, you know which student-athletes are best suited for this program. Strongly consider referring up to three of your players for this leadership opportunity. We believe it will not only enhance the participant, but also indirectly enhance your team.  Please find criteria for participation and referral forms attached below.
