LHSAA State Cheer & Dance Competition
The LHSAA will showcase Louisiana’s cheer and dance teams in its seconnd annual cheerleading state championships in December 2012. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to be a part of the 2nd LHSAA State Cheer & Dance Competition!
The competition will begin with dance and conclude with high school cheer. A complete schedule of events will be available after submission of registration forms. *All junior high and rec teams must register through UCA.
IMPORTANT NOTICES:
In order to be eligible to compete in this competition, the coach must have taken the AACCA Safety Certification Course. This course may be taken online at any time. Please make sure you are certified before registering for this competition!
UCA, NCA and UDA Nationals
If a squad wishes to compete for a bid to UCA or NCA Nationals, they must follow the division requirements for that particular association. Click links below to view divisions for nationals.

*UDA rules state that a dance team must have attended a summer camp with ten or more members in order to be eligible to recieve a bid for UDA Nationals.
Also, note that junior high and rec divisions are not competing for state honors. Rec teams and junior high teams may participate in the LHSAA State competition, but will need to register through UCA in order to participate in the UCA regional competition.

What's New?
The LHSAA is constantly seeking ways to support spirit groups in Louisiana!
In December 2012, the LHSAA will host the 2nd annual LHSAA State Cheer & Dance Competition followed by our annual Cheer Coaches Clinic in January. In addition to the competition and clinic, we will be offering a Cheerleading Coach of the Year Award, as well as a Spirit of Louisiana Community Service Award, which will be given to the squad that most exemplifies community service, academics, school athletic support, and spirit raising activities.

LHSAA Cheerleading Coaches Clinic
The LHSAA Cheerleading Coaches Clinic will be held January 25 & 26, 2012 at the Crowne Plaza in Baton Rouge, La. In order to be eligible to stunt or tumble at the Prep Classic or Basketball State Finals, the head cheer coach must attend this clinic and be AACCA Safety Certified.

AACCA Safety Certification is also a requirement in order to participate in the LHSAA Cheer & Dance State Competition.
Getting certified is quick and easy! The AACCA Safety Course is available online and your certification is good for 4 years.
Spirit of Louisiana Award
Congratulations to Quitman High School's Cheerleading Squad for being selected as the 2011-12 Spirit of Louisiana Community Service Project award winner!
The Spirit of Louisiana Award is an opportunity to get recognized on a state and national level for all the wonderful things you are already doing in your schools and community. The LHSAA will nominate the winner of the Spirit of Louisiana Award for the Varsity American School Spirit Award. We would love to see Louisiana win this award and make an impact in schools and communities throughout our state.
