	      <description><![CDATA[The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) is offering three new online coach education courses &ndash; Creating a Safe and Respectful Environment, Fundamentals of Coaching Golf and Strength and Conditioning. The courses are now available on the NFHS Coach Education Web site at www.nfhslearn.com. Creating a Safe and Respectful Environment is a one-hour course that presents content on abusive situations (sexual harassment, emotional and verbal abuse), hazing and bullying (including cyber-bullying), and how the Internet and technology play a role in all of these situations. The coach is provided data on the extent of these problems as well&#8230;]]></description>

	The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) announced today that it will close at 12 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, Feb. 29 and will remain closed through Friday, March 2, 2012 due to the regional semifinals of the 2012 LHSAA/State Farm Top 28 State Boys&#39; &amp; Girls&#39; Basketball Championships. The office will resume normal operation on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 8 a.m. The LHSAA would like to congratulate all teams that made it to the semifinal rounds of the state basketball championships.

	      <description><![CDATA[A new NOCSAE standard for football gloves was adopted in 2010, and the NFHS Football Rules Committee determined that the new NOCSAE standard for football gloves would be mandated starting in 2012. However, the Rules Review Committee recently held a hearing in which the National Sporting Goods Association and the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association appealed that timeline, petitioning for a one-year delay.&nbsp; Following presentation of the information and considerable deliberation by the Rules Review Committee, it was determined that gloves meeting the new NOCSAE standard and those meeting the previous standard would both be deemed legal through 2012.
