	      <description><![CDATA[The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) is offering three new online coach education courses &ndash; Creating a Safe and Respectful Environment, Fundamentals of Coaching Golf and Strength and Conditioning. The courses are now available on the NFHS Coach Education Web site at www.nfhslearn.com. Creating a Safe and Respectful Environment is a one-hour course that presents content on abusive situations (sexual harassment, emotional and verbal abuse), hazing and bullying (including cyber-bullying), and how the Internet and technology play a role in all of these situations. The coach is provided data on the extent of these problems as well&#8230;]]></description>

	The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) announced today that it will close at 12 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, Feb. 29 and will remain closed through Friday, March 2, 2012 due to the regional semifinals of the 2012 LHSAA/State Farm Top 28 State Boys&#39; &amp; Girls&#39; Basketball Championships. The office will resume normal operation on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 8 a.m. The LHSAA would like to congratulate all teams that made it to the semifinal rounds of the state basketball championships.

	      <description><![CDATA[The 2011-2012 has brought plenty of new and exciting changes for the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) and its member schools. The association added two non-sanctioned sports:&nbsp; Cheerleading and Powerlifting. The Cheerleading program has excelled this school year becoming one of the LHSAA&rsquo;s events with the most participants &ndash; more than 1300 athletes! In December, the association held the first ever statewide cheer and dance competition. It was one of the school year&rsquo;s most anticipated and liveliest events yet. We also added powerlifting to the list of sports this year and much like cheerleading, it&rsquo;s off to a fantastic&#8230;]]></description>

	      <description><![CDATA[We&rsquo;ve all heard the saying winners never quit and quitters never win, but is that always true?&nbsp; Have you ever had to forfeit a game?&nbsp; If not, would you ever forfeit a game?&nbsp; One high school team down in Georgia recently had to face that question and might have changed our minds on the whole saying quitters never win. A Georgia high school boys&rsquo; basketball team decided to forfeit its playoff game against a rival to avoid a fight.&nbsp; Back in October, Warren County High played a football game against Hancock Central High that ended in a serious fight leaving&#8230;]]></description>

	      <description><![CDATA[INDIANAPOLIS, IN (February 13, 2012) &mdash; In a continued emphasis on improving sportsmanship, the &ldquo;soft red&rdquo; has been eliminated in high school soccer. Effective with the 2012-13 season, a second yellow card not only will disqualify a player, but the team will not be permitted to substitute for the disqualified player. Previously, a team was permitted to replace a player who had received a second yellow card. This significant change was one of three rules revisions passed by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Soccer Rules Committee at its January 23-25 meeting in Indianapolis.
