Baton Rouge, LA (September 28, 2011) – At the Annual Louisiana High School Athletic Association Executive Committee Fall Meeting held earlier today, host sites were awarded for the State Soccer Championships and the State Tennis Tournament.
The 2012 – 2013 LHSAA State Soccer Championships will once again be hosted by City Park of New Orleans at Tad Gormley Stadium. The 2012 – 2013 State Tennis Tournament was awarded to the Monroe-West Monroe Convention and Visitors Bureau, and will be held on the campus of The University of Louisiana at Monroe and other venues in the city. “The Monroe – West Monroe community is very appreciative to the LHSAA for accepting our proposal to host the state tennis tournament,” said Director of Sports Tourism for the Monroe – West Monroe CVB, Scott Bruscato. “We are excited about the opportunity to host all of the divisions and welcoming the student-athletes, coaches and fans to our area.”
In an effort to create greater consistency, as well as to enhance the event experience for all student-athletes, the LHSAA has transitioned into a streamlined, more traditional RFP (Request for Proposal) process with the help of Varsity Event Management.
“ I would like to thank the cities and organizations for their cooperation and support in the new RFP process,” said LHSAA Executive Director, Kenny Henderson. “The committee had some excellent proposals to choose from, and we are excited about the future of these two championships.”
