BATON ROUGE, LA (Oct. 10, 2013) — The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) announced last week that it has signed a three-year agreement to further its relationship with NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune, who is currently one of the association’s contributing sponsors.
By continuing its partnership with the LHSAA, NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune will become a major sponsor of the New Orleans Saints-LHSAA Game of the Week program beginning immediately. Likewise, it will become a contributing sponsor for LHSAA state championship events in the greater Baton Rouge and New Orleans areas which includes the state finals for the sports of volleyball, football, wrestling and outdoor track and field. Finally, the three-year deal includes NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune becoming the premier, title sponsor for the boys’ and girls’ state soccer championships to be held February 26 – 28, 2014 at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans. The championships will be titled the LHSAA-NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune State Soccer Championships.

The 2013 LHSAA State Volleyball Tournament will be held Nov. 14 – 16, 2013 at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner, La. The state football championships, otherwise known as the 2013 LHSAA-State Farm Prep Classic, are set for Dec. 12 – 14, 2013 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The 2014 LHSAA State Wrestling Tournament will take place at the Pontchartrain Center Feb. 21 – 22, 2014 while the 2014 LHSAA State Outdoor Track and Field Meet will be held May 8 – 10, 2014 at LSU’s Bernie Moore Stadium in Baton Rouge.
The partnership begins with the 2013-14 school year and will continue through August 2016. According to LHSAA Executive Director Kenny Henderson, “The LHSAA is excited to continue our partnership with NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune, a leader in bringing up-to-date coverage of high school athletics to the fans in our great state.”
Previously, NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune was the presenting sponsor of the 2012 LHSAA-State Farm Prep Classic as well as the 2013 LHSAA State Soccer Championships.
