The Louisiana High School Athletic Association's Executive Director Kenny Henderson has been named the 2012 Ronnie Carter Outstanding High School Administrator by the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA).
This award is named for Ronnie Carter, former executive director of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Assocation (TSSAA) and former board member of the National Federal of State High School Associations (NFHS), who understood and recognized the vital role that cheerleaders play in their schools and communities.
According to the UCA, behind most great cheerleading programs are many support groups, such as parents, coaches and teachers. But in many cases, it is the superintendent, athletic director or state administrator who has a hand in their success. Henderson was named this year's winner for leading the charge in Louisiana with regards to improving cheerleading safety and coaches education as well as producing a state cheer championship and recognizing a "Spirit of Louisiana" cheerleading squad for community service and academics.
Henderson will be honored in February 2012 at the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida.
