The rich tradition of the LHSAA Prep Classic Poster Contest has been one of the premier features of the state football championships since 1984. After receiving more than 100 submissions from talented students across the state, we are pleased to announce that the artwork submitted by Chloe' Cortez of Berwick High School, will serve as the official program cover and poster for the 2018 Allstate Sugar Bowl/LHSAA Prep Classic.
The Berwick High School senior has been in the "Talented Visual Art Program" since the 6th grade and is an active member of the school's Beta Club. She plans to attend Nicholls State University in the fall where she will study ot become a nurse practitioner.
"I'm inspired by a variety of music and pop culture from older generations. The person who most inspires and motivates me in my art teacher, Ms. Alicia Garner. She makes the art room feel like home."
As the winner of this year's contest, Chloe' will receive free Raising Cane's for one year and a $100 cash prize, compliments of the LHSAA. She will be presented with a framed copy of the official poster during halftime of the Class 3A State Championship on Friday, December 7 at 7:00pm, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The presenation will also include the school's principal, art teacher and representatives from Raising Cane's, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and the LHSAA.
