The Louisiana High School Athletic Association is seeking a person to fill the following position:
ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER

Minimum Requirements:

Assistant Commissioners of the LHSAA shall have three years experience as a member school principal, seven years experience as a member school coach, or five years experience as a member school principal and coach.  It is highly recommended the applicant have a background and an interest in, and knowledge of, high school athletics.  Administrative experience is preferred.

Remarks:

The Commissioner shall define the duties of the Assistant Commissioners. Primary job duties for this position include:

  1. Director of officials
  2. Oversight/supervision of multiple sports as assigned by the Commissioner
  3. Assist with the Louisiana High School Coaches Association
  4. Other duties assigned by the Commissioner

The Commissioner shall set the salary of the Assistant Commissioner with the Finance Committee’s oversight.

Salary:

12-month position
$55-$65K based on experience and other variables

Home base for this position will be the LHSAA office in Baton Rouge

The Assistant Commissioner may be appointed for a term to coincide but not to exceed that of the Commissioner’s term. 

Extension of the contractual agreement with the LHSAA shall be based upon a satisfactory yearly performance review conducted by the Commissioner and the results of the performance review shall be reported to and received by the Executive Committee.
